The “Friendship Trail” or Gandy Boulevard Bridge in Tampa was
a three-mile-long bridge, sawcut into sections and flown off
by two barge mounted cranes for the American Bridge Company.
This project required the full array of our bridge demolition
equipment including curb saws, wire saws and flat saws. Unique
to this job was the use of our new 110 HP “Super Deep Saw”
pictured here. This super-charged, diesel saw can spin a 92”
diameter blade performing cuts up to 41” deep allowing us to
cut six to seven diaphragms per hour compared to one to two
per hour using traditional methods.
